About the Committee
The PECRC has 3 essential functions:
1.) Nominate candidates to local office, and participate in nomination processes for state and federal offices. We do this by recruiting and vetting candidates for local office and hosting state and federal candidates at our local meetings so we can learn more about where those candidates stand on the important issues of the day.
2.) Ensure that local, state, and federal Republican nominated candidates have the financial help and support they need to win. We do this by engaging our committee in volunteer work to host fundraising events for the candidates and by providing/connecting individuals to training sessions, working the polls, door knocking, making phone calls, and more! This includes our efforts to engage citizen poll watchers on Election Day and during canvassing.
3.) Hold regular meetings to keep Republicans in Prince Edward County informed and engaged in the political process. These meetings are meant to be work sessions for the membership and community forums for speakers. All of our meetings are open to the public regardless of membership status, but only members can vote on business matters.
